Franschhoek was established in the late 1600’s and is steeped in history, some of it not so savoury but history is history and should never be hidden. Our Franschhoek Historical Village Walk will tell you all about it.

Details & Itinerary
Who first lived here and which iconic animal did they share the valley with? What was the village’s role at the beginning of the Apartheid era? Why don’t we speak French in our “French Corner”? All these questions and more answered.
Many of the houses still occupied today have been around for centuries. Learn about the people who first colonized the valley as well as about those that were originally here and see the town with a new appreciation. Easy, non-strenuous walking.

- Cellphone Camera for magical memories and Social Media sharing
- Good walking shoes
- Comfortable clothing
- Light wind or rain jacket for winter.

Guests must be able to walk for 2 hours (approximately 5kms).
It is an easy, leisurely walk so moderate fitness is required.
Pick Up & Drop Off
We depart from and return to the Franschhoek Adventure Centre which is at Shop 5, upstairs @ 62 Huguenot Rd, Franschhoek (right next to the Tourism Office).
